Nicola Roche trained in Trinity College, Dublin and was initially appointed a consultant at The Royal Free Hospital in 2002 but has been a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at The Royal Marsden Hospital since 2006. She has a particular interest in reducing variation in care and ensuring equitable access to best practice for all patients. She is a Trustee of the Association of Breast Surgery, a member of the RM Partners Cancer Vanguard breast pathway group and a member of the breast Clinical Expert Group.
She was PI for the IBIS II international breast cancer prevention study and current research interests include variation in the management of DCIS and minimizing extent of surgery post NACT. Other roles include educational trainer for national TIG fellow and deanery trainees and associate supervisor for MD thesis.
